How Often Have You Asked Yourself? –
‘How Good A Leader Am I?’

  • Do your team members (senior managers, managers, board members) follow you willingly?
  • Do they question you without fear of repercussions?
  • Do they enjoy challenging discussions with you about the team’s work? the team’s issues?
  • Does your team celebrate the ongoing small successes? spontaneously? planned?
  • Do each of your team members get your undivided attention when individual work issues occur?
  • Do they get your interested ear during their career development discussions?
  • Do they get ‘value’out of working with you?
  • Do you rush to the rule book (policy manual), Human Resources or the Law every time something goes wrong?

I am sure you are brilliant at budget and plans – it is hard not to be. They are not the most intellectually taxing items of your year, however, they are very likely to be one of your biggest time wasters and even a provide a career-ending-bullet if your organisation decides that success depends upon your ability to complete forms on time!

But! Someone, somewhere has done it all before. Those kindly accountants should have refined their systems to make life easier for you. Or, if they have not, the organisation needs new accounting/financial skills. These people have had 300 years to refine their craft- ensure they do that to your advantage so that you can spend time on the People Factor.
